Despite the fact that Brothers generally do very little due to, well, laziness, this is just a little update for the New Year… We do have some plans, honest!
So, we have some shows coming up; a few in February with Cynics and a couple in April with Dead to Me and No Friends, and also a little tour with Static Age in April. We’ll post them all on here under the ‘shows’ link (surprising, huh?), since myspace has gone to shit, we’ll make this into a ‘proper’ website once we’ve figured out how to do it…. I’m sure we’ll be playing a few more than this, but we’re lazy as hell and haven’t gotten around to thinking past April yet.
Our other main plan is to record an album, which will hopefully be done by summer. We have a bunch of new songs, we just need to figure out which ones we like and get a few more spondoolies together and we’re good to go. We’re planning to release it on vinyl at some point later in the year.
In the meantime, we’re all keeping busy with other stuff:
Rez is going on tour around Europe with The Cut Ups from January 11th, go to see them if you can! He plays in Sauna Youth too, and is equally busy with non-band stuff like playing computer games or commissioning new roads, or whatever it is he does at work.
Anna is ‘busy’ at University in London. By ‘busy’, I mean avoiding doing essays and doing silly things like singing on her friend Ben’s disco pop songs, and also being one of the ‘special guests’ for this: Warm Brains (go see them at the Old Blue Last on February 5th if you like Sonic Youth/Pavement-y type stuff).
Ben is holding the fort in Exeter, hanging with his pooches and his woman and writing lots of new songs. He plays in Smoke ‘Em Out occasionally, but they’re probably even lazier than us. He’s swanning off to America for a bit late February, it’ll probably be too hot for him though so hopefully he’ll come home.
